When your pet reaches 1 year old we perform a year old exam and needed vaccinations.  If we are to help your pet live a long, healthy, happy life, the absolute most important service we provide is regular annual exams.  Since dogs and cats age 5-7 years in a calendar year, I cannot stress enough the importance of exams every 6-12 months.  In fact, when your pet is 1 year old, exams are far more important than vaccinations to keep your pet healthy.  At exams, we can detect possible problems far sooner than the average owner.  Early detection means a longer, healthier life for your pet. After exam there are two other major contributors to pet’s quality of life. First keep your pet trim.  That means you can almost see the ribs.  Think about athlete's bodies.  Second brush your pet’s teeth daily and let us clean the teeth about once a year.  Pets should not have had bad breath.

We all want our pets to be happy pets.  Happy pets, especially dogs, love structure and knowing what you expect of them.  That means rules, regular exercise, and a predictable life.  That also means rewards for good behavior and never ever physically punishing your pet.
